Time to Visit
The main season is April to November, busiest months July and August. June is a good month before the peak season with longest hours of daylight.
Electrical Current
Standard is 220 volts, hotels usually have 220/110 sockets for razors. Bring an adapter or converter, particularly if you are using small hotels or guest houses.
Passports
Be sure yours is current and does not expire within 6 months of your return. Advisable to carry a copy of your passport, packed separately.
Main Airports
For direct flights are Glasgow for Scotland and London for England and Wales and connections to Edinburgh, Prestwick and Glasgow in Scotland.
Express Trains
From London to Glasgow or Edinburgh take approximately 5 hours.
Ferries
You can take self-drive vehicles and coaches on ferries to many Scottish islands.
Golf Handicaps Certificates
Required by most top ranked courses, limits typically 24 for men and 36 for ladies, a few clubs have stricter limits, we will advise when planning an itinerary. Have your current certificate with you, or a letter from your club professional verifying your handicap. For Golfers without a handicap there are many fine courses in the UK without restrictions.
Golf Carts
Available at Golf Resorts and many inland courses but very few links courses.
Caddies
We can pre-book a Caddie for you with the Caddie-master at most major courses. club. Caddies are paid on the day, they are self-employed and cannot be 100% guaranteed but the Caddie-masters normally provide a very reliable service.
Dress on the course and in the Clubhouse
Generally smart/ casual but some clubs require long socks with shorts and jacket and tie in certain dining rooms after 6 p.m. etc. We can advise when booking your itinerary and will give you a phone number for each club.
Self-Drive Hire vehicles are right hand drive
Cars and Mini-vans are typically smaller in the UK than US, discuss your requirement with us taking account the number of passengers, luggage and golf equipment. Book early to get the best choice of Mini-van in peak periods.
Motor-coaches or Mini-coaches, Chauffeur Drive and Guides
We can provide a range of transport with driver to suit any number of people traveling together. Also driver / guides or specialist guides as required.

Money and Credit Cards
Visa and Mastercard are the major credit cards, American Express and Diners are also accepted widely. The British Pound Stirling is divided into 100 pennies. Coins issued are 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1. Notes are £5, £10, £50, £100. When changing cash or travelers checks you will get the best rate at Banks. Airport Banks are normally very convenient being sited just outside of the customs area.
Time
The UK is 5 hours ahead of Eastern time. Clocks are advanced 1 hour for "summer time" during the last weekend in March and return last weekend in October.
