Golf Vacations Scotland
Scotland is a distinctive and magical land of legend, tradition and romance. Ruined castles and famous monuments recall a past of heroic struggle. Two great cities, the ancient capital Edinburgh, and even more ancient Glasgow are among Europe's most dynamic cities. Both are cultural centres but with modern amenities as well, fine restaurants, a vibrant nightlife and splendid shopping. Equally compelling is the majestic countryside; sparsely populated with sense of space that attracts many visitors. Enjoy the majestic scenery of the highlands, dramatic mountains, windswept moors, fascinating offshore islands, shimmering lochs, salmon-filled rivers, and so much more.
There are five major golfing areas in Scotland, Ayrshire south of Glasgow, East of Edinburgh, St Andrews, Aberdeen, and the Highlands based near Inverness. Typical 7 night tours visit two of these areas without too much driving. The best time to visit Scotland is between May and September. April and October are fine for golf but some other facilities may be closed.
