The restaurant “Lacóbriga” offers an international menu, whilst the ‘Italian Kitchen’ restaurant is the right place to enjoy a fine selection of gastronomic specialities. The “ Old Pateo” is for the lovers of Portuguese local dishes with an outside terrace for that romantic dinner. The Hotel has 2 outdoor swimming pools for adults (one of them on the beach) and 1 for children, 1 interior heated pool and Jacuzzi, a Health Club, a Games Room and covered parking. Lagos is a popular resort, lively, colourful and cheerful. It predominantly attracts a young crowd who appreciate the bargain-stacked shops, bars and restaurants, vibrant nightlife and the proximity to the beaches and cliffs. There is also a rich historical vein that includes a fortress, town walls, an interesting museum and the site of Europe’s first slave market in the 15th century.

Palmeres Golf Club is close to the beautiful and historic western Algarve town of Lagos. It is a mixture of links and inland golf and a showpiece for the skills of Frank Pennink, one of the best and most prolific course designers in Portugal. It is a beautiful course of high quality that blends beach and mountain sceneries. The clubhouse between holes nine and ten, provides a sensational view over the Atlantic coastline. You start out on a difficult dogleg par 4 and soon gets into the links, a great expanse of white sand and high dunes. At the sixth you turns inland where the course winds through picturesque almond trees. Here you face a different challenge, with holes designed along gently undulating valleys bordered by pine trees, and affording beautiful views over the Bay and Mountains. (Par 71: 6018 metres) |

Boavista Golf is an impressive championship course that offers a variety of holes commencing with the first, a meandering downhill par-4, bordered by beautiful sub-tropical landscaping. The signature hole on the outward nine is the stunning par-4, 7th hole set against a glorious backdrop of the Atlantic ocean with panoramic views extending from Praia da Luz round to with the hills at Monchique, a spectacular backdrop. Umbrella pines, blossoming almond, fig, palm and olive trees line the rolling fairways, weaving their way between water hazards and shrewdly placed bunkers. Breathtaking views, spectacular scenery and the clear Atlantic Ocean, which is visible from most holes, all combine to make this course a delight for the golfer. (Par 71: 5751 metres)

Morgado do Reguengo Golf Club is located in Portimão on the way to Monchique. The Morgado Course is very enjoyable away from the crowds, lined with vineyards, olive and fig trees. The front nine is flatter with lakes and the back nine is more rolling with spectacular views. It has very large greens, accurate putting is required as there are a lot of hidden borrows, also deep bunkers strategically placed to achieve the configuration of a real championship course. It is suitable for players of all levels, but long hitters will especially enjoy this course. (Par 73: 6999 metres) |
The Alamos course at Morgado has two large lakes and great views of the Monchique mountains, Alamos Golf is the second course to be developed at the Morgados do Reguengo project, north of Portimão. Set beside its sister course Morgado in beautiful unspoilt rolling countryside, Alamos Golf Course provides a delightful variety of holes. The setting is through undulating small valleys, there are large greens raised above the fairway approach, they demand good putting skills as they involve several levels. Accuracy is required to avoid deep aggressive bunkers. (Par 71: 5641m meters) |

Salagos Golf Club is located between Albufiera and Armacoa de Pera. This course is challenging, as it lays alongside the Gale Beach and a lake which is a bird sanctuary, so is open to the on and offshore winds. It demands accurate driving if you are to score well and is an interesting technical course to play but it is easy walking being relatively flat. There are a variety of lakes, which coupled with the sea breezes make it a good test of golf. Each nine holes have two Par 5 holes of around 500 metres and two Par 3 holes of more than 170 metres making a balanced 18 holes. A new clubhouse was recently completed that provides excellent changing and catering facilities. (Par 72: 6174 metres)

Penina Championship Course was designed by Sir Henry Cotton and is considered a masterpiece by many experts. As a result it has hosted the Portugeze Open on a number of occasions. A mixture of trees, well-placed water hazards, and notable length makes it a good test requiring accuracy and course management skills. Two of the great holes are the dogleg fifth with its canal, lake, and contoured green and the alarming 13th, shadowed by water from tee to green. The sequence of holes is unusual, the front nine only has one par 5 – but the back nine four par 5’s. The outward nine is a par 35 – the back nine par 38. It is a classic design in a tranquil setting and the course abounds with wildlife. (6500 metres, Par: 73)

Vale da Pinta is a well laid out and interesting championship course situated in an old olive grove where some of the trees are reputed to be in the region of 1,500 years old. There are also almond and carob trees lining the course that rolls through small valleys and hills in a true Algarve landscape. Wide deep greens are protected by a total of 59 bunkers. The challenges posed by the course are adaptable to differing levels of skill, achieved by having five sets of tees for each hole. Two holes that deserve special mention are the par-3 tenth and the par-5 thirteenth. The former has a large bunker defending the green, the latter winds through a valley for 541 metres. (5861 metres Par:71)
