San Lorenzo Golf Course has been ranked #2 in Continental Europe by Golf World, and has featured in the World top hundred. It is exclusively for the enjoyment of guests of Le Meridien Dona Filipa. While much of the course meanders through typical Algarvian pine woods, it also opens to stunning ocean vistas and distant mountain backdrops. A good part of the course is virtually an extension of the nature reserve of the Ria Formosa Estuary with fairways that run alongside saltwater marshes and freshwater lagoons. This protected environment is the habitat of over 70 bird species, including herons, hoopoes, white storks, coots, black winged stilts and the rare purple gallinule. (Par 72: 5926 metres) |

With 5/6 tees per hole, wide and undulating fairways, extensive water hazards and well positioned bunkers; Victoria Course rewards the ambitious shot-maker. (Par 72: 6560 metres).

Pinheiros Altos has an unusual layout with three nines of contrasting character -- 'The Pines', 'The Corks' and 'The Olives'. The Pines meanders through typical Algarvian pine woods with many water hazards to be negotiated coming home. The rest is much flatter but the holes work their way through a series of lakes requiring accurate driving and precise iron play. The greens have a reputation for being difficult to read and to hit because they are small and undulating. The course is in part of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, making it a course of beauty and it is a challenge for players of all standards. The outstanding par three fifth on the Pines calls for a mid-iron shot played across a valley full of umbrella pines to a heavily contoured green
