Scotland: Open Championship Troon Self Drive Tour

Suggested itinerary commencing July 18th 2009

Sat. 18th	Arrive Glasgow Prestwick or Glasgow Airport, met by AGS Representative, collect auto, onto your hotel in Troon. Stay 4 nights at The South Beach Hotel, Troon, situated just 600 yards from Royal Troon Golf Club. This privately owned family hotel has 27 superbly furnished en-suite bedrooms, many with ocean views. The main restaurant offers the best of Scottish and continental cuisine.
Sun. 19th	Attend the Open Championship at Turnberry
Mon. 20th	Play Prestwick St Nicholas. This traditional Scottish Links golf course was created on the shores of the Firth of Clyde and will test the talents of all who visit it. Established in 1851, is right at the heart of a wonderful golfing area in Ayrshire. With a sense of history and tradition, and commanding beautiful views across the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran in the West and Ailsa Craig in the South, golfing at St. Nicholas is an experience not to be missed. Due to its proximity to the shoreline, an almost ever-present wind ensures that the course provides a good test of golfing ability. The shorter hitter of the ball however will not suffer, as few of the holes require long carries from the tee to reach the fairways. 18 holes 6000 yards par 69.
Tue. 21st	Play Glasgow Gailes, a typical Scottish links course, flat with moderately fast greens. It is an Open qualifying course when the Open is staged at Royal Troon. A very demanding test of golf especially when it is windy. 18 holes, 6513 yards, par 71.
Thu. 22nd	Depart from Glasgow Prestwick or Glasgow Airport
